If you’re in a weary season, there’s H.O.P.E. and the 4 Ways to Keep Going

We all have those seasons where our energy is low, our zest for life just isn’t the same and things seem to get us down more then usual.  But there’s H.O.P.E.!  Today, I just want to give you this little acronym for the days or seasons that seem harder then usual and tell you to KEEP GOING!

To be honest, I’m in a weary season.  I have 21 month old and I’m over 35 weeks pregnant.  It’s hard to have the same energy on a daily basis for anything! Whether for my home, my work, my family or friends- I’m just plain tired.  And maybe you can relate but for different reasons.  Maybe you’re emotionally tired or spiritually tired because your circumstances have thrown you for a loop and you just can’t find that zest you once had.  But I want to encourage us today with this post!

H.ave Faith- Plug into our power source!  He who gave us life can renew our life and our strength.  He put the power of the Holy Spirit in us and we can tap into that at any time! Take 5 minutes to pray or read scripture about strength. He tells us that “those who wait on Him shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary and walk and will not faint.” The Word is our truth and our firm foundation.

O.pen Your Hands and Hearts-  In seasons like this, we are often trying to control or hold on to things that we need to surrender.  I know for me, the days I am most tired are the days I’m disappointed in myself for feeling tired and not getting a lot done.  I’m wanting to hold on to what life looked like before instead of embracing where I am.  God gives us grace and we need to give ourselves this same grace. So instead surrender this season.  Ask God what he’s trying to teach you and show you.  Ask Him how he wants your life to look instead of forcing something that just isn’t going to work.

P.resent- Be present.  In this type of season we often want to just get through it or be distracted so we don’t have to face it. But what I’ve learned is that we should really be doing the opposite.  There is so much to learn in this season. Pain is our greatest teacher and I don’t know about you, but I want to learn from it.  I don’t want to have to repeat the same lesson over and over.  I lived that way too long and life only gets shorter. Also, there is so much beauty in every moment that if you really look for it, you’ll find it. And it makes living in this kind of weariness worth ALL the while!

E.xcited-  Stay excited! Stay HOPEFUL! There is always sun after the rain.  There is always morning after night.  But you’ve got to cling to it! It actually says in the book of Proverbs that “hope deferred makes the heart sick.”  Our hearts are actually sick if we don’t hope for the future!

With that said, I’ll leave us with this verse to carry us through the week.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future!”- Jeremiah 29:11

Praying for each of you.

Stay fabulous but never forget we are flawed, so that we always see our need for Christ.
